I guess every band wants to say it because, well.. Its funny. But the music sites soso.com and baidu.com have scraped my MP3 links off the page and are serving them up to lots of users in Japan and China. Most are not even going to the site. They are just clicking on a link on one of those sites.

This new traffic is crippling my server which runs other sites as well, so I will have to move the MP3 files. They will be available through our Myspace.com site. Please go to our MySpace page to listen to the MP3s thanks.

I will have all the tracks available for free up there as soon as possible.

Thanks

The record is finally finished and ready. I will post some artwork from the record up to the site soon. For now you can use the Paypal button to buy the record and later on it will be available on iTunes as well as other services.

Coming apart slowly” has been a yearlong effort by Jhina and I to record, produce, master and package the album all by ourselves. Much of the music was arranged back when we had a full band and were playing shows. It has been a huge learning process that we have been slogging away at, and we are finally done.

coming apart slowlyWe have finally finished haggling with Discmakers over design art and have signed off on proofs so that our records can go into duplication.

It should be all ready by May 28th or so.

I got our final tracks back from mastering over the weekend and they sound great. I will post then over the tracks that we currently have on the site ASAP. We had the songs mastered by Mike Wells mastering, he runs a great mastering shop out of the Hyde Street Studios.

As soon as we finish the CD artwork and notes we will send all of it off to the nice Discmakers people and have a done album.

Two new songs, from our little bag of tricks. “One breath short of saying so” is a song by Scott Weigel that he was nice enough to let us record. The working title for this one used to be “Excuse me for interrupting your salad bar”.

“Refrigerator” or alternately “Mr. Fix it” started as a fun jam between Scott and I while everybody was taking a bathroom break.

In preparation for putting these songs together for a record by January we fixed some little things in “Motorneers” and “One big build” as well.

We seem to get better at mixing as we go. We have about 4 songs still in the can that need tracking so I’m sure we will have working versions by Thanksgiving.

We have been on a roll lately with recording so you can check out 2 new tracks that we have finished lately. Motorneers is a song that we have been playing for a long time but have never recorded a version of it. I even get a little backing vocal time on it. Tiny Moments is a acoustic song with cello that got out of hand. Kinda like mainlining cotton candy. Any excuse to use the glockenspiel. Glockenspiel is the NEW cowbell.

Look for a couple of other new tracks coming in the next couple of weeks as well.

Jhina beat me to the punch and already put them up on our Myspace.com site

Well Jhina and I have been writing and recording up a storm and here are 2 quick things that we have been up to. One Big Build is a crazy orchestral piece that has been brewing for a while and Madonna of the Unloved is small unmixed out take that I have been piecing together over the months that we have been recording and I will put the finishing touches on it later.

Two weeks of writing in the country. More when I am back from France.

After our last show with Randy and the increasingly busy schedule of Scott and other members we have decided to dissolve the current lineup of the band and Jhina and I are headed back into the studio to just work on recording. Check back to see new songs mixes and other postings.

Thanks to everyone who came to seee us and all the great comments we got from friends and complete strangers.
